My little fish have been swim their hearts out. Today we completed the 2012 swim a thon. 2 full hours are the requirements. Each group is asked to try to swim 200 laps in 2 hours time. It comes out to a tad over 3 miles. Last year Gabby hit 200 laps with about 4 minutes to spare and Bella swam 122. All I can say is wow, what a difference 1 year can make. Today I am proud to report

This is sucking all my time. My 8 week coaching job. I am on the final week. It's been fun, but we are 7-9, which is making it not so fun. On the brighter side, my paycheck is paying for a little fun.... Disney! So, everyday, I say, I can do this, I can do this, 1 more week is all I have. Today this sweet thing started her school year! Her mornings will now be spent, painting, reading, coloring and making friends. We have already established that swimming in general consumes our lives.  Travel is the best part of it though.  The kids work so hard at practice, so the meets are the reward.  Most of the time we stay at a hotel for the weekend and make a trip out of it.  The kids compete during the day and hang out and play in the hotel pools at night.  It is a great time, to sit back with the parents and just

So another two swim weekends have come and gone.  The Huntington Mile was one of them.  It was to be held at a lake where the kids would swim a mile.  We have had so much rain this summer is was canceled because the lake level had raised 6ft.  That weekend we decieded to go to an amusement park instead.  It was a great time, except it rained on and off all day at the park and we got pretty wet.

Outside swim meets are one of my favorite summer events.  You get a chance to enjoy the outdoors and watch your children compete.  Sharkfest is one of my all time favorite meets because it is the chance to be on deck.  You get great pictures and videos.  Last year this was Bella's first swim meet ever.  Only 5years old at the time.  Wow amazing how she and Gabby have improved in a years time.

My cousin Ben tied the knot on Saturday. It was a fun family night out.  We saw lots of family members that we barely see anymore. Summer swim team has officially begun. This year D2 has joined her big sister. The two monkeys are goofing around after a short rain delay. Summer swim team is called Long Course.  It is so confusing because it is a super short season (2months) compared to Short Course which is (7 months).  The biggest difference is the length of the pool and the races.  In the winter, the pool is only 25

Another Father's Day gone in a blink of an eye..... We were a swimming family for sure this past weekend. HeartSmart 2010 started on Friday night at 5:10pm and ended Sunday night around 4:30 pm. D1 swam two events on Friday night. Gabby's swim club just completed the second and final fundraiser of the swim seasons.  It was a USA swimming sponsored swim-a-thon.  The guidelines are 200 laps or 2 hours maximum time limit or which ever happens first. Who has ever heard of a fog delay in November? I guess we can now add that to the list of crazy weather we have been having here. It is almost 3 pm and it is still overcast, cloudy, wet and yes even a little foggy. Swim season has officially started.  Halloween weekend we packed our bags and headed one town over for the first meet of the year.  I loaded Gabby and off we went.  7:15 am is very early for a Saturday. It's fall break baby... fall break! Do you know what that means? No school for 2 days! So what's a mom of 3 to do? Spend an afternoon painting pottery.  I can't think of a better way to spend the day with my babies!!! Today is Gia first time actually painting her own piece. I selected a small square dinner plate. The girl loves to paint at home, but we have never tried pottery.

My baby girl is growing. As a matter of fact, she really is not a baby anymore. For 2 years now, Gia, or as the neighbors call her GiGi, has had her eye on this 4 wheeled battery operated toy.
